Why the Immobiliser Prevents the Engine Starting
A modern vehicle needs a recognised key before it will authorise an engine start.
The immobiliser checks the transponder or smart key against the vehicle’s stored security data. A correctly cut blade alone does not satisfy that electronic check. When no working key remains, a replacement needs to be produced and paired with the system before the vehicle can be driven.
Why Lost Key Replacement Differs from a Spare
There is no working original available to support the replacement process.
A spare can be assessed and tested alongside an existing key. Without one, the replacement method depends on access to the vehicle’s security data and may require more involved tools or procedures. Tell us whether any working key remains so we can assess the correct service before booking.
